In response tho the questions which have surfaced regarding the reopening of the pool, the board has researched the issue, spoken with the Board of Health, and found a 6-4-20 relevant posting from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts executive and Environmental Affairs. We are awaiting guidance from First Residential as well. The most salient points from the posting are as follows:
The capacity of the pool should be reduced by 40%. If our capacity is 25, this would limit the number of people in the pool area at any given time to 10. A lifeguard and a person to sanitize (as is required) would reduce that number to 8. Sanitizing the entire pool area is NOT the responsibility oft the lifeguard, which is why a second person would need to be hired to perform this service. The person required to sanitize would have to be present whenever the pool is open. This would cost the residents an additional $17+/- per hour over the cost of pool maintenance and the lifeguard.
The board urges you read the above referenced communication from the Commonwealth in full and welcomes your opinion regarding reopening the pool under these conditions.

The refreshing Pool is for residents' use only. The pool opens Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting, and closes the day after Labor Day. **Please note the Board has decided to keep the pool closed during the week until June 24th. After June 24th, the pool will be opened daily.** There is always a lifeguard on duty, and residents must be 16 or older to enter without adult supervision. If a resident is between the ages of 13-16, a parent or caregiver can sign a form (last page in the pool rules) to allow them permission to enter the pool alone. Please see our 2019 Pool Rules below to find out more information.
Pick up your 2019 pool pass at the MCCC Office during office hours. If these hours do not work, please call the office at 508-478-1250 and we will make an arrangement to get you your pool pass.
